Is Finding a Great Realtor a Difficult Process?

Most people think so.  Out of the thousands of Realtors in the Inland Empire / Redlands area, how can you choose the one who will best represent your interests?  As a client, you rely on your Realtor.  He or she represents you in potentially one of the most important financial decisions you will make.  In an ideal match, you will have an absolute trust, a bedrock faith in your Realtor’s motives, ethics, and professionalism.  There are some Realtors who will live up to your trust, and some who may not.  How do you choose?

Most people wisely base their decision on a number of factors: the approach of the Realtor, their philosophy, their experience, their success, recommendations from other clients, and an expectation of a good working relationship, based on a meeting between themselves and the Realtor.

My Approach to the Real Estate Business

My approach to the real estate business has evolved over the years as a blend of what has fulfilled my client’s needs and what I would expect from a Realtor myself.  Many people who buy or sell homes make decisions largely on the basis of emotions.  Although buying a home is often the single most important financial decision people make, many people approach buying or selling real estate with little or no information.

I believe that home ownership is part of an overall financial plan and should be approached in a businesslike manner.  I believe in giving my clients all the information necessary to make well informed, intelligent decisions  --  and at their pace, and within their particular comfort level.  I believe in giving my clients all their options in their particular situation.  And sometimes it is not in my client’s best interest to buy or sell a piece of property.  Every situation is different and must be intelligently analyzed accordingly.

I decided years ago to approach the realty business as a consultant instead of a salesperson.  I believe in giving my clients all available options.  Sometimes that requires bringing in other financial experts, such a financial planners, or tax accountants to analyze the situation.  My business is real estate, but my client’s business is what is best for them and their family -- and I act accordingly.

Most realtors spend 90 percent of their time looking for new clients.  I decided to spend that time to provide extra services to my clients.  Consequently, most of my business comes to me from referrals.  If you structure a real estate business the way I do, you put the future of your business in the hands of your clients -- if you don’t do an extraordinary job you won’t get referrals and eventually you won’t be in business anymore.

My approach may not be for everyone.  However, as I enter my 17th year in real estate in this area, I am very thankful and appreciative to my clients and friends.  They have allowed me to reach the elite Century 21 Centurion Producer level.  I share my success with them.

Please explore my personal website: www.Homes365.com as I am trying to make it a resource you will find useful for more than just real estate.  Of particular interest might be the section entitled: “Our List”.  This is a list of local contractors/service providers/businesses that have performed well for me and/or my clients.

I would be happy to share with you what I have gleaned from my experiences here.  My wife and I are 30 year residents of Redlands and graduates of the University of Redlands.  We have two boys (18 & 10) and have thoroughly enjoyed the quality of life available in this area.

Please contact me if I may be of assistance to you.  Thank you for your consideration.
